We build inclusive and resilient communities where children and young people with disabilities can thrive.
Over the years, TAF’s work has grown from providing direct service to a small group of schools, parents, and children with disabilities to widening our social impact through creative empowerment, advocacy, and capacity-building approaches. Our interventions strive to enhance the quality of life for marginalized children, women & girls with disabilities by catalyzing access to health, education and economic empowerment.
We strengthen the capacity of existing education & health systems and networks. Recognizing the essential role of collaboration and co-creation in yielding sustainable outcomes, TAF partners with corporates, local and regional institutions, national & county governments & agencies in our project areas
Tunza (Child Health and Development)
Our TUNZA Program supports the holistic health, growth, and development of children with disabilities. Care interventions are crucial in improving child development, and healthy growth for children. Caregivers experience a huge burden of caregiving and psychosocial challenges as there are limited social support structures available.
We provide caregivers of children with disabilities psychosocial support, skills and resources to effectively care for children with disabilities. In partnership community-based centers, clinics, schools, and other disability focused organizations, we enhance access to early childhood intervention services through direct service provision, referrals, mapping & innovation.

Ibuka (Women & Girl Empowerment)
Through the IBUKA program, The Action Foundation works towards enhancing the livelihoods, resilience and dignity of women and girls with disabilities. Women & girls with disabilities are less likely to access economic resources compared to their peers without disabilities. The situation is dire for women and girls in urban and rural informal settlements and is exacerbated by poverty and inaccessibility of education and training opportunities. They face heightened risks of sexual gender-based violence amongst other forms of violence owing to their vulnerability, retrogressive cultural belief & norm systems, stigma & discrimination in the community.
Ibuka ( Women and Girl Empowerment)
We work with women and girls with disabilities to address the root causes which make them vulnerable to disproportionately higher rates of violence compared to their peers and limit access to economic opportunities.
The Ibuka program provides mentorship, psychosocial support, capacity building to support women and girls with disabilities to respond to and prevent Gender Based Violence, unlock economic opportunities and engage with community influencers to promote their rights
