TUNZA (Child Health & Development)
Reducing preventable disabilities and support children with disabilities in achieving their developmental milestones and improving functional skills.
The Child Health and Development Program is a holistic initiative designed to prevent disabilities and provide comprehensive support to children with disabilities (CWDs) and their families.
We integrate key maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) services—including antenatal care, folic acid supplementation, skilled birth attendance, newborn screenings, and postnatal care—with early identification and intervention for disabilities. By training caregivers and frontline health workers, we ensure that developmental delays and disabilities are recognized early, enabling timely support.
Beyond healthcare, Tunza strengthens community-based inclusive development and promotes responsive caregiving through psychosocial support, caregiver training, and improved access to early intervention services. Our goal is to foster safe and supportive environments where every child can thrive.
To improve the overall well-being of children and their families, the program promotes economic empowerment by helping caregivers start sustainable livelihood initiatives—enhancing nutrition, healthcare access, and household resilience.
Through early disability assessments, targeted referrals, and rehabilitation, we create a sustainable model of prevention, early intervention, and long-term care that improves outcomes for children with disabilities and empowers their families.
